Meydan Racecourse hosts first turf race of the season
02. February 2010Dubai, UAE, 2 February 2010 – The second racemeeting to be held at Meydan Racecourse, kindly sponsored by DUBAL, is set to feature the very first race run on the turf track, the 1800m Group Three Al Rashidiya.
The racemeeting follows the successful opening meeting of the Dubai International Racing Carnival last Thursday, which saw six out of eight races won by international horses, most notably by 2009 Dubai World Cup second place winner Gloria De Campeao, who made all in the first round of the Al Maktoum Challenge.
Meydan's Chairman of the Board and CEO Saeed Humaid Al Tayer said: “Following last week’s inaugural racemeeting, we are pleased to welcome DUBAL as the second sponsor here at Meydan Racecourse. We are truly grateful to all our sponsors, like DUBAL, who have moved forward with us from Nad Al Sheba to our new facility. Thursday's meeting offers a number of hospitality options available to suit all tastes. Entrance to the public areas of Meydan Racecourse is free of charge and there are also complimentary transfers at the end of the night from Meydan Racecourse to Arabian Ranches (outside the main entrance of the shopping centre), Dubai Marina, Emirates Towers (Boulevard entrance by Cartier), Wafi (outside of Pyramids) and Souk Madinat.
The Dubai Transport Company Operates a taxi service from Meydan with the taxi drop-off and pick up point located outside the Meydan Grandstand.
